Douglas Earl Harstad
December 7, 1960 – August 2, 2020
We are saddened and heart-broken to announce the passing of our beloved, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Douglas Earl Harstad on Sunday, August 2, 2020.
Doug was born in Drayton Valley on December 7, 1960 to his late parents, Louise and Earl Harstad.
Doug is survived by his special friend, Linda Mosa; his children, Rachel Stensrud and Holt Harstad; granddaughters, Emma and Megan Stensrud; his siblings, Bill Harstad (Penny), Donna Haluszka, Mike Harstad, and Kimberly Oliver, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends, all of whom had great love and respect for Doug, as he did for them.
He was the friend that one could always count on. Doug had a passion for all sports with a special love for baseball when the Blue Jays were playing and hockey when the Oilers were on the ice. He was a hard worker with a wide range of talents, an accomplished cook with a great love for the outdoors.
Those wishing to pay their respects to Doug are invited to do so at Affinity Funeral Service, 5137 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Saturday, August 8, 2020 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Due to COVID -19 restrictions, Doug’s life will be celebrated at a later date.
The family would like to express their heart-felt gratitude for the care given by Thorsby Emergency Services and STARS.
