Obituary

William “Bill” Leslie Marks

December 13, 1957 – February 28, 2021

We regret to announce the passing of William Leslie Marks on the morning of Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the age of 63 years.

For the majority of his life, Bill drove truck and worked as a consultant in the Drayton Valley area as a consultant in the oil and gas industry.  From early on, Bill loved everything that allowed him to be outdoors and take in nature’s beauty, especially dropping a line in hopes for a great catch; if Bill took any time off from work, it was to take part in the Buck Lake Fish Derby.   Upon retirement, Bill found it difficult to sit still. He could regularly be found at Tim Horton’s visiting with friends and sharing his great sense of humour.  With a huge heart and a bounty of love to share, his greatest love was for his family.

Bill will be missed tremendously  and always loved by his children, Dallas Thompson, Holly Thompson (John Speight) and Sheldon Thompson; grandchildren, Jordyn Wurban, Shaelynn Thompson and Alexis Dirksen; father, Charles Marks; sisters, Teresa Bogart (Raymond) and Mary Jane Marks (Dwight); nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Gordie, Krista, Jenness, David, Clinton and Melissa; very special friends, Bobby and Linda Williams, as well as by numerous extended family and friends.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, Elsie Marks and brother, Raymond Marks.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a gathering to honour Bill’s life will be held at a later date.

As an expression of gratitude to the Doctors, nurses and the entire team at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre’s Dialysis Unit for the amazing care provided to Bill, his family would appreciate memorial donations in his’s name may be made directly to Drayton Valley Health Foundation – Dialysis Unit.
